Campus Recreation Services has recently opened a new 18 hole disc golf course with 2 practice baskets on the campus at the University of Utah. The Course is located on the east side of Wasatch Drive on the old University golf course. Please help us get the word out
Here is an excerpt from Big Wave Dave’s experience at this new course:
The front 9 play with the trees, the back 9 deal with elevation. They have 2 practice basket at 40 feet apart (for horseshoes). Play the sandtraps as out-of-bounds (there are realy only 2 holes that they come into play). Most of the tee pads are concrete, the others are fly pads because they may have to redesign for construction. All the holes are in the long grass, good luck rolling. A few holes are on the old greens; which play extremely hot and fast. There are a few benches still left over from the ball golf course. Parking on weekends and after 6 is cool but during the day you need a permit to park real close. They are trying to work out a deal with the University to put meters so we don’t need to buy a permit pass. You can always park in the hospital and walk down. The baskets all have sleeves so there is hope for multiple pins. There are no bathrooms available, nor drinking fountains. Service dogs are allowed, smoking is allowed but no alcohol or they will yank the course. Trash cans are now available, so please pick up after yourself.
