The Canyons course now has 18 holes! Jake and his crew have done a great job getting the new front nine in place. Here is an overview of the changes:
Front nine: elevation changes (2 across ravines, 1 uphill hole, 2 downhill holes), some wide open, some very tricky with trees and/or water hazards very close to the basket. A good mix of length, contour, obstacles and hazards. Starts at the top of the High Meadow lift. After the second hole, its downhill back toward the lodge.
The back nine is unchanged from last year. Similar to the front with a mix of types, but shorter than the front. It’s more of a “positioning” layout requiring accuracy. Only one bomber hole – the 18th
The course is not very friendly to the discs due to the terrain. Its very rocky/dirt ground and trees. Errant throws can go missing in the creeks, ravines, and woods! But Mike Goar, our GM, is quite the player and he likes our course!
It’s free to play once you get to hole 1! So ride your mountatn bike up to the lodge and have a go. Or pay the gondola fee – $15 for adults – and have at it. Alcohol is allowed, as are dogs, kids, etc. There is water at the lodge at the top of the gondola and at the benches at most of the tee boxes. Please respect the mountain enviroment and pick up after yourself and others.
