The Solitude Disc Golf Course is great! It’s located on the Solitude Mountain Resort in Big Cottonwood Canyon and, for obvious reasons, is only available during late spring, the summer season and early fall. Take the lift up to hole 1 and play as you hike down the mountain! Hole 18 is a 1200 foot drive (over 400 vertical feet)!
The lift runs on Thursdays and Fridays from 1pm to 6pm and on Saturdays and Sundays from 10am to 6pm. If you go up to Solitude at a time when the lift is not running, then the easiest way to hole 1 is to park at the Solitude Nordic Center near the Brighton Store and hike along the “Lake Solitude” trail. The hike will take you about 15 to 20 minutes. Be sure to leave one vehicle at Solitude’s lower parking lot to get you back up to the Nordic Center parking lot when you’re through playing!
